The Black Stars of Ghana touched down in N’Djamena, Chad, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, ahead of their pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Les Sao.
The team, led by head coach Otto Addo, arrived at Hassan Djamous International Airport at 6:30 pm local time, greeted by Ghana Embassy officials and enthusiastic local supporters.
The squad, comprising 22 players, technical staff, and management, is set to face Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, with kick-off at 1:00 pm GMT.
Ghana, currently leading Group I with 15 points from six matches, aims to solidify their position with a victory against a Chad side yet to earn a point in the qualifiers.
Key players, including Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, and Jordan Ayew, are expected to drive the Black Stars’ campaign for a fifth World Cup appearance.
The team held a training session at the Accra Sports Stadium before departure and will conduct a light workout at the match venue on Wednesday to fine-tune preparations.
Coach Otto Addo expressed confidence, stating, “Our focus is on the Chad game, and I hope we can secure a win.”
A strong performance is crucial as Ghana prepares to host Mali in Accra on September 8, a match seen as decisive for their qualification hopes.
With a blend of experience and youthful talent, including debutant Derrick Arthur Köhn, the Black Stars are poised to maintain their dominance in Group I.
